The books first half is interesting but not jaw dropping, whereas the second half of the book really kicks it up a notch in my opinion. But they are used when the characters are under extreme stress so it's less distasteful. There is also moderate to severe language. The abuse is fairly graphic and severe so I wouldn't recommend this book for younger readers. Julian does get abused by his caretaker and it is fairly obvious so it may come as a shock to some readers that Adam doesn't find out and intervene until much later in the book. This issue carries through the entire book and you only get a true sense of how bad the abuse is at the end of the book when Julian’s life is put at risk due to the severity of the abuse. Since this is a multi-perspective book it isn't too long into the book until you figure out that Julian’s home life isn't so great. The story switches perspectives from Adam to Julian so you can see the plot from both of their views. So the story progresses and Julian finds himself thrown into the crazy mix of Adam’s life. Anyway Adam is overjoyed to be reunited with his “foster brother” and the two strike up an easy friendship once again. This is where the story really starts to get interesting, as you find out about the circumstances of Julian’s removal from Adam’s house. There he finds himself interacting with his ex-foster brother, Julian. Adam is a high school senior who ends up using his free period to lend a hand to the school psychologist. This book is about two boys, Adam and Julian who find themselves in quite a few dangerous situations. It was so emotional it will definitely take me a few days to get my head straight.

This book is something it has so many unexpected and shocking moments/events that just blow you away. Hello Readers, this is a review on the book “A List of Cages” by Robin Roe.
